As the sun sets on the last weekday, a bonfire is lit at this breathtaking venue right on the beach in Ahangama. Large fresh fish are brought out and cooked to perfection on wood fired barrel barbecue grills and the music starts to trickle out into the night. Some established musicians, both local and international, will play all kinds of wacky instruments to get your feet moving and your eyes bulging with delight. Ask nicely and you may even get to play a few songs yourself. There’s no doubt it will be one of the most memorable gigs of your life.
Dot’s Bay is situated in Hiriketiya Bay near Tangalle. Discovered less than 6 years ago, the area has exploded into a tourist hotspot with a nascent yet vibrant party scene.
