Our team at Nirbana will be delighted to work with you to build an itinerary from curating a self-guided food, drinks and music tour to exploring the Galle Fort. Speak to our local music and food guru, Aslam, for the best tips on local hangout spots, head out for a paddle excursion or even a day trip safari. During the dry season, you can join a sailing sunset cruise on our Catamaran for some good music, good vibes, yoga and a surreal Indian ocean sunset with the Nirbana crew in Sri Lanka.

I had heard amazing reviews from friends but this did not disappoint. Was absolutely the best place we have ever stayed and we are booked to return next year. The venue and food i cannot fault, absolutely spectacular (and in abundance),but more importantly the staff treated us with such respect and were so kind and helpful at all times day or night. The area nirbana is situated in is quiet and calm yet not far in a tuktuk to the centre of ahangama. I would reccommend to anyone.

It's hard to explain but we have enjoyed 9 days in a fantastic place, luxury but chilled, starting with the owners, all people have made an unforgettable experience for us! It is a place for pure relaxation while still enjoying perfect Yoga classes and surfing with other guests. My highlight maybe was the service and the staff who were first class. Nirbana is a beautiful quiet place by a river. An ideal place for meditation and yoga. The rooms are spacious and cool some with outdoor showers. The food is fabulous, the staff cannot do enough for you and nothing is too much problem. The manager Hero was able to arrange, sort out or fix anything. We did Yin, Zen, flow, aerial and paddle board yoga while we were there. A truest magical place

Amazing location.... I have been travelling in Sri Lanka for years and Nirbana is really my favorite destination in the south. The rooms are well furnished with a nice tasty touch... Food is unbelivable... The entire proprety is gorgeous ... so greeeeen and calm.... the pool, the yoga shala...dining area ...everything is like in dream... The staff is very professional,friendly and available at anytime.... Ahahgama is a nice town too, 10 minutes from Nirbana, beaches, surf... I can't wait to be back 🙂

If you are looking for a quiet paradise, Nirbana is what you need. here you are in the heart of nature among the jungle by a quiet river. An ideal place for meditation and yoga. The villa also can arrange surfing lessons and paddle boarding along the river. The style and combination of details simply delights. The chef does not only cook local dishes, but may surprise you with top-quality lasagna. Hero’s manager has become for us a real hero and a great conversationalist. The person who will solve any problem for you. Thanks a lot him for that. This place is not for parties, but for quiet conversations around the fireplace, complete relaxation and recovery. Nirbana is pure paradise. The setting is stunningly beautiful and super-relaxed. I spent days in my favourite lounge chair overlooking the river and lush jungle with monkeys, peacocks, monitors, beautiful birdlife... The house, rooms and pool are perfectly designed to provide privacy as well as company - whatever you choose. And the food, what to say? Divine! Sri Lankan with all twists you can imagine - curry, bowls, egg-hoppers, … a truly healthy-tasty-pretty feast for breakfast, lunch and dinner – and the cheese-cake 😉 Thanks to Indiko’s cooking class, I can now make my own curries at home whenever I get Nirbana-homesick.

Nirbana was absolutely pure heaven. I was recommended this location through a surf travel blogger and noticed it was still quite new but took the chance anyways. Nirbana completely surpassed any expectations I had. The entire staff from the chefs to the house cleaners to the Ops manager to the Yoga instructor were top notch professionals, incredibly friendly, super accommodating and just made sure I had nothing short of a phenomenal experience. The rooms are lovely and peaceful, the pool is stunning, and the location is amazing. I have nothing bad to say about my experience.

For join our retreats, we ask that you book a few months in advance and message us directly. We will do out best to get you all in. You can also privately hire the villa for your whole group. We can accommodate 24 amazing people. We have the option to hire the retreat and run your own experience. Please let us know your needs!

We have a few things up our sleeve for anniversaries, birthdays and special occasions. We can also help you build a surprise for a friend or loved one, we love this kind of thing!

Our teachers are well seasoned pro’s and can tailor classes and offer guidance from absolute beginners to advanced level. Nirbana is all inclusive and no experience is required to join our experiences. We ask everyone to be mindful of their limitations and be clear about past injuries or discomforts.

we welcome anyone over 18 and there is no cap on age. If you’re enthusiastic to learn, we are just as excited to meet you. If you are traveling with kids or teenagers, do drop us a direct message to see how we can accommodate them.
Absolutely not! Check out our schedule and just show up. We ask you to sign in before each class or the teacher may do it for you if she knows who you are! All retreats are non refundable so if you fail to show up for your classes or experiences, sadly we cannot pay you back as the teachers are paid and time is allocated for your services.
